3 HISTÓRIA DA HALLIBURTON
Fundada por Erle P. Halliburton como uma empresa de cimentação de poços 1919 – Brown & Root é fundada. 1938 – Halliburton cimenta o 1º poço offshore usando um caminhão numa barcaça na costa da Louisiana,Estados Unidos.

1947 – Brown & Root costrói a 1ª plataforma offshore do mundo. 1957 – Chega ao Brasil. 1961 – Brown & Root é a responsável pela construção dos prédios da Nasa em Houston. 1962 – Haliburton compra a Brown & Root. 1988 – M.W. Kellog é comprada pela Dresser Corp (fabricante de tubos usados em refinarias).

1991 – Halliburton ajuda a extinguir incêndio em mais de 320 dos 647 poços que estavam em chamas no Kwait. 1996 – Halliburton compra a Landmark. 1998 – Halliburton compra a Dresser Industries. 2002 – Halliburton se divide em dois grupos de negócios operados independentemente – ESG (Energy Service Group) and KBR (Kellogg Brown & Root).
