VIDEO SERVICES – RIO TELEPORT Videocom’s Rio Teleport is located on a privileged area in Rio de Janeiro city, with the Botanic Garden on one side and the Rodrigo de Freitas lagoon on the other, having easy access to the famous residential districts – Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon, as well as to the domestic and international airports. The Teleport has several uplink and downlink stations for C and Ku bands, including equipment for standard conversion, playout and record, and a studio for live shots. Through our microwave links, the Teleport is connected to the main Embratel video gateway, that allows the reception of signal contributions from all Brazilian state capitals and principal cities. RIO TELEPORT – Playout & Uplink/Downlink Center Programs can be delivered for playout from: Studios, tapes, CDs, microwave or fiber links, Internet or satellite. Our earth stations use state of the art equipment, like Andrew dishes, Scientific-Atlanta compression systems, Sony players and recorders, just to mention few. The actual standard for up and down video services is MPEG-2/DVB 4:2:0 compression.
