3 To be (ser ou estar) - Past I was in a different school last year. Were you in class yesterday? Ashley wasnt in the library during the break. We werent prepared for last week´s test.

4 Present Simple: Expressa hábitos, atividades regulares ou situações estáveis, sem preocupação com a sua duração (quando começam ou quando acabam). Our teachers give us a lot of homework. It rains a lot in the Amazon. We dont have lessons on Saturday. Do you usually study hard for your tests? Does Jessica go to high school?

5 Present Continuous: Refere-se a ações que acontecem no momento da fala. Im doing a project on mammals. What book are you reading? Norman isnt paying attention to the lesson.

6 Past Simple: Comenta as ações no passado. O tempo em que as ações ocorreram normalmente é conhecido ou se deseja conhecer. I got your e-mail last night. Daniel passed biology last year. We didnt do our homework yesterday. When did you finish your project? Did you hear the teachers comments? Note que, embora o tempo não esteja explícito na última pergunta, ele é conhecido pelos participantes do diálogo.

7 Past Continuous: O past continuous expressa ações em andamento, mas no passado. I was studying at 8:00 oclock last night. What were you doing when the bell rang? Cathy wasnt listening when the teacher asked her a question.
