4 Regras: # Verbos terminados em e , elimina-se o e e acrescenta-se ing : to take – taking.

5 # Verbos com uma só sílaba e terminados em consoante- vogal- consoante, dobramos a consoante final: to get – getting.

6 # Verbos com duas sílabas, sendo a última tônica e com final c-v-c, dobramos a última consoante: to begin – beginning.

7 Exceção: to be – being – It is being painted.
