USOS DO PRESENT SIMPLE Para indicar eventos regulares/habituais: A carnival takes place In Rio every year. Uma festa de carnaval acontece no Rio todos os anos. ...para falar sobre ocupações: What do you do? (Ou seja: Qual é a sua ocupação?) ...para falar sobre a frequência com que você faz algo: How often do you go to the dentist? Com que frequência você vai ao dentista? He looks at his mobile phone every five minutes. Ele olha para o seu telefone celular a cada cinco minutos. Os advérbios de frequência (sometimes, always, etc.) normalmente são colocados imediatamente antes do verbo principal: I always play tennis on Saturday but I never win.

The Earth goes round the Sun A terra gira em torno do sol. The early bird catches the worm Provérbio inglês significando que" quem chega mais cedo, consegue o melhor. E também para perguntar e dizer o significado de algo: What does this sign mean? It means there's a man with an umbrella. No, it doesn’t. It means there are roadworks. O que significa aquela placa? Significa que há um homem com um guarda-chuva. Nada disso. Significa que há homens trabalhando na pista.

12 USOS DO PRESENT PERFECT
Inglês, 9º Série, Present Perfect x Simple Present USOS DO PRESENT PERFECT Neste uso, a palavra perfect refere-se ao que os gramáticos chamam "aspecto". Ou seja, uma forma de ver a ação ou o estado (expresso pelo verbo) em relação ao decorrer do tempo. O aspecto perfect se refere à idéia em expressões como as seguintes: already já since then desde então so far até então up to now até agora A função dessas expressões é vincular o passado ao presente que, aliás, é a principal função do Present Perfect. Have you seen that film? Você assistiu àquele filme? I’ve already seen it. Eu já assisti.

13 USOS DO PRESENT PERFECT
Inglês, 9º Série, Present Perfect x Simple Present USOS DO PRESENT PERFECT O Present Perfect não pode ser usado se o passado estiver separado do presente. No entanto, o Present Perfect deve ser usado quando houver uma conexão entre o passado e o presente, por exemplo com since (desde) e for (há). He's been on the island for a long time. Ele está na ilha há muito tempo. I have lived in London since I was a student. (E eu ainda moro lá.) Moro em Londres desde que era estudante. A palavra ever e never frequentemente são usadas para pedir e dar informações gerais usando o Present Perfect. Use ever após o sujeito em perguntas: Have you ever been to Iceland? Você já esteve na Islândia? Use never após have ou has em sentenças negativas: I have never seen that boy before. Nunca vi aquele menino antes.
