ILS – INSTRUMENT LANDING SYSTEM
A modulação do lóbulo superior é 90 Hz e a do inferior é 150 Hz.

HUD A3 - CAT II DEFINIÇÕES 07/04/2017
8
DEFINIÇÕES CATEGORIAS ILS Categoria I

HUD A3 - CAT II ILS CAT II APPROACH
Captain will review with the First Officer required actions and callouts IAW procedures The QRH contains a CAT II Approach Briefing Guide which outlines the requirements to fly these approaches. The approach is hand flown with guidance from the HGS system, using Flaps 5, with the specified approach speeds to provide increased go-around performance. The Captain will be the PF for the approach, the First Officer will be the PM. Lateral and vertical tracking must be closely monitored. Call out any observed deviations. 07/04/2017
30
HUD A3 - CAT II CAT II APPROACH PROCEDURES
Both pilots ensure the autopilot is OFF by 800 ft. RA and the HUD A3 annunciates green on the FMA by 650 ft. RA. 80 Ft. Above Minimums- When “Approaching Minimums” call is announced, the Captain will scan the HUD to acquire the flare guidance cue. Minimums - When the “Minimums” callout is announced, one of the following occurs: Proper CAT II cues are present, and a descent to landing can be made at a normal descent rate, the Captain calls “Landing” and lands the aircraft. The First Officer continues to monitor the flight instruments until touchdown, warning of deviations from the normal descent and speed profile. 07/04/2017
31
HUD A3 - CAT II Proper CAT II cues are not present, or if the aircraft is not in a position from which a descent to the runway can be made, or an “APPR WARN” is present on the HUD, the Captain calls “Go-around, flaps,” selects TO/GA and executes the go-around. The First Officer monitors the instruments for deviation from a normal go-around profile. If there is no response from the Captain at the “minimums” callout, the First Officer will execute a go-around by pushing the TO/GA button and stating “Go-around, flaps” or land if deemed to be the more safe course of action. 07/04/2017
32

Activation happens when previous conditions are met and: GS active GS between -2.5 and -3.0 degrees RA between 1500 ft and 500 ft Minimums Selector set to RA both sides Slat/Flap 5 AP off above 500 ft Get NO HUD A3 with slope less than -2.5 or greater than -3.0 degrees. Get NO HUD A3 if courses don’t match and PM side doesn’t go to green needles 07/04/2017
38
Non-Normal Operation AP not off by 650 ft RA, “HUD A3” will flash in inverse video on PFD (will flash in combiner display during 5sec) If the AP is not OFF by 500 ft RA: NO HUD A3 and APPR WRN Go-Around must be executed if an APPR WRN unless appropriate visual cues are present NO HUD A3 and APPR WRN flash for 5 seconds except APPR WRN in Combiner flashes for 10 seconds before becoming steady. 07/04/2017
39
Non-Normal Operation A loss of 1 RA above 500 ft will cause the NO HUD A3 to flash inverse video yellow until the APPR button is pressed If HUD A3 was active RLOUT and FLARE modes are removed When the APP button is pressed: HUD 1(2) A3 NOT AVAIL is shown on EICAS No Aural Warning is given LOC and GS revert to basic mode NO HUD A3 amber is removed Pressing APP again will arm a lower mode (CAT II or CAT I) Will need to set new DA(H) INFO Only, not going to Implement. This would cause a go-around and would force CAT I Only procedures. 07/04/2017
40
Non-Normal Operation A loss of a monitored critical component below 500 ft RA will cause the NO HUD A3 and APPR WRN A Go-Around must be executed unless appropriate visual cues are present No Aural warning CAS message HUD 1(2) A3 NOT AVAIL displayed Armed modes RLOUT and FLARE are removed Pressing TOGA will clear alerts and reset annunciations to normal GA mode Loss of HGS capability will also cause the APPR WRN and NO HUD A3. e.g. loss of LOC or G/S for more than 7 and 5 sec. respectively. 07/04/2017
41
Landing GS data is removed below 70 ft Runway Line symbols
Displayed between 300 ft and 60 ft Scaled to represent an 2450m long by 60m wide runway Touchdown tic marks 1050 ft from the threshold Conformal Flare Command symbol Displayed at approx. 100 ft RA Single + sign that rises to meet Guidance Cue at approx 40 to 50 ft FLARE mode active when Flare Command symbol joins the Guidance Cue Rate of rise equals rate of flare 07/04/2017
42
Landing RETD IDLE Arms below Speed mode at 150 ft RA
Becomes active Speed mode between 30 and 15 ft RA IDLE Displays in Combiner just below the Flight Path symbol and also in the ADI when RETD becomes active 07/04/2017
43
Touchdown RLOUT becomes the active lateral mode at touchdown
Autothrottles disconnect without aural warning Combiner presents a Ground Localizer Scale and pointer A Ground Roll Reference symbol replaces the Flight Path symbol A Ground Roll Guidance Cue will display in the center of the Ground Roll Reference symbol replacing the Flight Guidance Cue to aid in centerline tracking Runway remaining value will also be displayed NOTE: Advisory only, not to be used for performance monitoring RLOUT flashes for 5 seconds then becomes steady. AT will flash until AT quick disconnect button is pressed. 07/04/2017
44
Rollout Excessive Deviation symbol
Displays when aircraft deviates more than 27 ft from centerline Points in direction needed to return to centerline RLOUT and HUD A3 modes will disengage below 20 kts* or clearing the runway Ground Localizer Scale, Ground Roll Guidance Cue, and Runway Remaining value will also be removed Excessive Deviation symbol will go away when within 22 ft of centerline. Modes seem to disengage after a time frame and not below 20 kts unless clearing runway when heading is more than 15 degrees of the course. 07/04/2017
45
Misc Facts During HUD A3 approaches the HGS uses its own calculations to determine the guidance A loss of localizer signal can be endured for up to 7 seconds A loss of glideslope can be endured for up to 5 seconds NOTE: This corresponds to ICAO standards for backup transmitter Inside FAF you may continue if RVR reported less than CAT II and evaluate at DH If you have required visual cues at DH you can land If you lose sight during flare you must go-around 07/04/2017
46
Rollout A loss of Rollout Guidance will cause NO HUD A3 to be displayed Flashes 2 seconds then becomes steady NOTE: Crew will have to establish outside visual cues for remainder of rollout. Expanded lateral deviation scale may or may not be displayed. Flashes 2 seconds as opposed to 5 seconds 07/04/2017
