Present Continuous: Refere-se a ações que acontecem no momento da fala. Im doing a project on mammals. What book are you reading? Norman isnt paying attention to the lesson.
Past Simple: Comenta as ações no passado. O tempo em que as ações ocorreram normalmente é conhecido ou se deseja conhecer. I got your last night. Daniel passed biology last year. We didnt do our homework yesterday. When did you finish your project? Did you hear the teachers comments? Note que, embora o tempo não esteja explícito na última pergunta, ele é conhecido pelos participantes do diálogo.
Past Continuous: O past continuous expressa ações em andamento, mas no passado. I was studying at 8:00 oclock last night. What were you doing when the bell rang? Cathy wasnt listening when the teacher asked her a question.
